Tom DalyPeter MaxIn 2003, Peter Max told Donald Rubbo, "Your father taught us all!" To honor his former teacher, Peter Max requested a photo of Don Rubbo and offered to create a painting for the family.

Peter GaztimbideDon Rubbo not only taught us about making art but became like a father to us as well. Many other outstanding Puertorrican artists were touched by his genius in one way or another. Carlos Ortiz SuenosI was a student to him for several years when he was in San Juan in 1976 and later in NYC before he passed away. He was the director of the National Center for the Arts in San Juan, Puerto Rico, a grassroots community organization. The church lended the building in exchange for us giving workshops to the community. Click here to read more.
